At Dormor, sustainability and environmental responsibility are significant priorities. Over the past few years, we’ve taken deliberate and measurable steps to enhance our environmental performance and reduce our carbon footprint.

With the support of a £59,000 grant from the Valley Combined Authority’s SME Energy Efficiency Scheme (SMEES), Dormor has implemented a series of impactful improvements:

  • Installation of solar panels across our factory roof

  • Introduction of a new, energy-efficient compressor

  • Upgraded LED lighting throughout older workshop areas

Since we began tracking our carbon footprint through our solar power, LED lighting, and energy-efficient equipment, we are proud to report:

  • 40,297.8kg of CO₂ emissions saved

  • The equivalent of 2,438 trees planted through renewable energy generation.

  • 40% reduction in electricity consumption in just two years (see chart below)

These achievements mark a significant milestone in our journey to Net Zero, as we remain committed to modernizing our everyday operations and continue to build a foundation for a more cleaner and resilient manufacturing that serves both people and the planet.
